• Fiddler on the Roof - An all time classic featuring Topol in what is highly regarded as one of the greatest musical films of all time. 🎻  
• Freaknik: The Musical - What would a musical made by T-Pain for Adult Swim look like? You've gotta tune in to find out!  
• Lagaan - One of the best bollywood films of all time! Think Mighty Ducks except it's about cricket and people from India facing off against shitty British colonialists. It's also my favorite movie of all time and I'm literally showing it on my birthday so you could come watch it with me.  
• Sweeney Todd (1982) - This is not the Tim Burton version and instead is the TV Movie version featuring the incomparable Angela Lansbury!

I've been looking out for this one for a while and it came up for sale in the UK right after I sorted my new LD subtitling setup.

Looks great but really doesn't stack up to seeing it in IMAX last week 🤣

An unexpected bonus of adding the Kramer VP-773 to my #laserdisc setup is that I can abuse it's picture-in-picture and luma key features to seriously upgrade my subtitling of non-English language discs!

I think I've just about finished tinkering with my #laserdisc setup after adding in a new video processor; the black levels had really changed.

After spending far too long staring at noisy, angry NTSC colour bars it was such a relief to switch to the clean and stable PAL test patterns.

Watching James Cameron's The Abyss on #laserdisc is a trip.

This is the special edition with 27 minutes of the extra footage and an entire disc filled with extras -- both sides, that is. The uncompressed Stereo/Dolby Surround sound mix is demo material too. Very, very clear and it hits HARD.

I'm pretty happy with the improvements in handling rainbow artefacts that the 3D comb filter in the Kramer VP-773 is giving me over the one I was using before in the Panasonic DMR-ES10.

These shots from the #Godzilla vs. Destoroyah Deluxe #laserdisc are probably the worst cross colour rainbow artefacts I've seen on the format.

These are just photos of my TV so not 100% representative of the actual picture, but look at her lapels in the first pics, and the top of the monitor in the second set.

My word, you lot do love #Teletext don’t you. Well done
