Proposed ban on 7-OH products hits bipartisan resistance in Missouri Senate • Missouri Independent

Republican state Sen. Mike Henderson believes he has the support to advance a bill that would impose age limits on kratom sales and ban the stronger opioid-like products known as 7-OH.

Missouri Independent
"In the United States, kratom is widely available in forms that are often much stronger than the natural leaves, including pills and extracts that may contain undisclosed ingredients. Because these products are not regulated, consumers cannot be sure what they are taking. Kratom itself has also been linked to potential liver damage."

This Gas Station Drug Is Driving a Surge in Poisonings and Hospitalizations

A once-niche herbal drug is now sparking a nationwide surge in poisonings, hospitalizations, and deaths.

Hospitalizations from ‘natural’ supplement have shot up 1,150%

You might want to leaf this drug alone. A new study found that calls to the nation’s poison centers about a natural supplement marketed as an energy booster, mood lifter and pain …

Kratom has been a hot topic of #PublicHealth concern across the state this year. Spokane & Spokane Valley have both now banned the sale of #kratom products within their city limits.

To mi přijde vcelku rozumné.

In state after state, the truth eventually shows itself. If this plant was actually deadly, I would have been done for more than eight and a half years ago. It always comes out that the deceased...

Dealeři si namastí kapsu a kromě kratomu budou mít v nabídce i těžší substance.

> December 11, 2025: (COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Following a pause to review potential federal action, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced today that he is requesting the Ohio Board of Pharmacy to immediately designate all synthetic kratom compounds and other dangerous compounds derived from the active ingredient in Kratom as illegal drugs through emergency rule. The Governor is also asking the Board of Pharmacy to pursue rules through the regular rulemaking process for scheduling mitragynine (natural kratom).

> Feb 12, 2026: At the request of Gov. Mike DeWine, the Ohio Board of Pharmacy recently enacted an emergency rule banning the distribution, possession, and sale of kratom-related products in the name of public health. In practice, however, the rule is more likely to endanger public health than protect it.

> Unfortunately, decades of experience with the failed “war on drugs” demonstrates that such bans rarely work. Instead, bans tend to push drug use underground, creating black markets and making drugs more dangerous – not to mention criminalizing users.

PSA: prohibition is racist, classist, and bad. May I suggest that the suicide hotline included in the letterhead is partly an indication drug prohibitions are not going well, thus far? And we do not need more of them?
