Iason married Medea, as he had promised in exchange for her help, and they settled in the city of #Korinth, lived together for many years and had children. In the play by #Euripides, Iason is presented with the opportunity to marry up: he leaves #Medea for Glauke, the princess of Korinth. King Kreon, Glauke's father, intends to send her into exile while Iason offers to keep her as his concubine. Medea declines, making plans to take the ultimate revenge on her former husband.
