Interesting observation trawling online archives for references to the dead at battle of #Edgehill 1642.

Contemp. reports say therewere so many bodies they were buried in pits, but you'd think there would still be some recorded in nearby villages, died later of wounds, or taken home & buried.

But there's so little, as if 23rd Oct never happened. Stark compared to other battles w/ so many records.

Is it really just that nearly everyone was buried on site? 🤔
