Following the defeat of the #ParisCommune, #LouiseMichel was banished to #NewCaledonia; meeting Algerians who had been sent there in the wake of the 1871 uprisings in #Kabylia. She would visit Algeria in1904 and spoke denouncing religion, militarism, oppression and colonial exploitation … and urging social revolution.
Louise Michel died in #Marseilles in 1905.
