When I was a kid, the Jesus Army was a kooky group who wore colourful jackets and drove around in colourful buses. They were also a strict hierarchical community who separated children from their parents and engaged in mass child abuse, only shutting down in 2019.

I remember seeing the Jesus Army around when I lived in Leicester, but knew very little about them. I seem to remember they used "flirty fishing", where attractive young ladies would loiter on the streets trying to attract young men on the way out for the evening with the promise they could meet after worship. I have no doubt this put the women in danger.
