Another Canadian recognized at the ALAs #AmericanLibraryAssociation this year is #JessicaJohns for #BadCree. The #Novel received an #AlexAward for the best 10 books for adults that appeal to children.

Bad Cree is a #horror-infused novel that centres around a young woman named Mackenzie, who is haunted by terrifying nightmares and wracked with guilt about her sister Sabrina's untimely death. The lines between her dreams and reality start to blur when she begins seeing a murder of crows following her around the city — and starts getting threatening text messages from someone claiming to be her dead sister.

Currently reading Bad Cree by #JessicaJohns, and I feel confident in already recommending it, definitely going to be a top book of 2023. It's like a mix of #ReservationDogs and the "Oubliette" episode of #XFiles (S03E08), with a bit of the feel of the Lakeside part of #AmericanGods. Not sure if this is big outside of Alberta (where the author is from and the book is set), but my local bookshop has sold out multiple times since it came out, and I can see why! #bookstodon
