In the first edition of Coming Back to Life (1998), Joanna Macy defined the Great Turning simply as the transition from the Industrial Growth Society to a Life-Sustaining Society.
By the second edition (2014), Joanna was brilliantly reframing the Great Turning as not only the transition, but also as a story we can choose to participate in.
This story serves as a compass, guiding and sustaining us. And all of our efforts along the way generate, collectively, the map for the journey.
