There's no reason for me to like #fondalee 's "jade" Trilogy as much as I do.
I'm about a quarter of the way through the second book, #jadewar and I can't put it down.
It's a Yakuza -type urban fantasy for lack of a better description. The kind of thing that would not interest me too much.
But she writes really, REALLY well.

Day 3 of “I can’t get this series out my head so might as well draw my way through the obsession.”

I get a very 80svibe from the early series, Shae walking into a high powered “man’s” role would definitely power shoulderpad it up…

#JadeWar: A fantastic escalation of stakes and scale. The continued development of the core characters is excellent, diving deep into what makes them tick and developing their relationships with those around them.

I loved the subversion of the expectations I had going into this book, it kept the story feeling fresh and alive, rather than threading water, as many middle books do.

I cannot wait to finish the trilogy with Jade Legacy!
