A sbloccare il risultato è stato dopo 8'39 l'americano Jack Wallace. Al 16'45 il Canada aveva pareggiato con Liam Hickey ma nel finale del secondo periodo Kayden Beasley e ancora Wallace erano riusciti a portare gli Stati Uniti in doppio vantaggio. Nel terzo drittel a segno nuovamente Wallace, quindi Declan Farmer e Brody Roybal.

In a sold-out ‘Milan Santa Giulia Ice Hockey Arena,’ with 11,500 tickets sold – an absolute record for a para ice hockey match at the Paralympics – the United States won their fifth consecutive Paralympic title and their sixth in history.

American Jack Wallace opened the scoring after 8’39. At 16’45, Canada tied with Liam Hickey, but in the second period’s final moments, Kayden Beasley and Wallace again managed to put the United States in a two-goal lead. In the third period, Wallace, then Declan Farmer and Brody Roybal scored.
