#KDE wanting to force-switch everyone to #wayland - but as usual things don't work.

#jriver Mediacenter has super problems running on Plasma/wayland, often fails to show UI, strange behavior, requires running on top of nvidia and not intel (double GPU).

Switching to #x11 and woops, all problems gone.

How many decades, and Wayland is still broken.

The first program I ever wrote - in FORTRAN on keypunch cards - was for organising/searching books and music. Video wasn't in the mix back then. Been obsessed with Media Mangers ever since, and consistently dissatisfied.

#KODI is clunky and clownish. #PLEX is inscrutable, like a machine with faulty wiring. #TinyMediaManager is lean and logical, but resource hungry and slow. #JRIVER is bloated, glitchy and overpriced.

I'm giving #Jellyfin a try, after dismissing it many years ago. So far, it's a refreshing change. Let y'all know when it inevitably disappoints me ...

And another computer converted *FROM* Wayland *TO* X11. XWayland simply doesn't suffice, and #jriver does core dump on Wayland.
I guess this is still another 20 years down the line that Wayland is actually usable. #wayland #fail
any #jriver masters out there? trying to figure out if i can connect @internetarchive to my jriver and search/stream music from there?
