【反名間焚化爐上IPEN國際組織的新聞版面】

IPEN 是國際污染物消除網絡（International Pollutants Elimination Network），由遍及全球的公共利益組織組成，致力於改善化學品政策並提高公眾意識，以確保不再以危害人類健康和環境的方式生產、使用或處置有害物質。IPEN SEA（South-East Asia）則是IPEN在東南亞地區的協調中心。廢(棄)物編偶然發現看守台灣為反名間焚化爐運動所研究的文章，被刊登在IPEN的新聞版面上了。雖然這八成是因為看守台灣平常就有跟IPEN SEA往來，他們大概是路過看到臉書的文章，就拿去用了，不過至少這表示我們對焚化爐的論述獲得了IPEN的認可，紀念一下。

“Este não é, infelizmente, um caso isolado. Diversos outros casos e eventos, não diretamente ligados à contaminação por material radioativo, vêm ocorrendo por conta dos cortes no orçamento, da redução do quadro de pessoal e também de deficiências de gestão”, diz a entidade, ao lembrar de problemas ocorridos no Reator IEA-R1, como o incêndio da Sala de Controle, em março deste ano.

Os representantes dos trabalhadores ressaltam que já vinham denunciando o desmonte e sucateamento do Ipen, além de cobrar investimento em infraestrutura, concurso, contratação de servidores e a definição de uma verdadeira e soberana estratégia para o Programa Nuclear Brasileiro."

【CNN記者以身試毒？揭開每日生活中的塑膠污染】

來自三大洲、三個不同城市：倫敦、香港、紐約的三位CNN記者，跟IPEN（國際污染物消除網絡， International Pollutants Elimination Network）合作一項實驗計畫，在日常生活中佩戴著IPEN給的一種可以收集化學物質的手環。這計畫的目的就是要知道我們每天生活中會接觸到哪些「會從塑膠中釋放出來的化學物質」。（所以如果CNN記者這樣叫做以身試毒，我們每個人每天也都在以身試毒囉🤡）

實驗結果根據IPEN檢測之後的說法是：「毫不意外，每一種我們認為會測到的化學物質，都測到了。」包括阻燃劑、紫外光穩定劑、雙酚家族的BPA、BPF、BPS，還有兩打以上的化學物質，最重要的是每個地方都測到高濃度的鄰苯二甲酸酯：一種被廣泛使用的塑化劑。

On 21 October, the EDPS has hosted an #IPEN event on "Secure multi-party computation" where participants have discussed risks and benefits of the technology.

SMPC is based on a deceptively simple yet powerful idea: multiple parties can work together to compute a result from their private data without ever exposing that data to one another.

Imagine hospitals improving disease prediction models using patient data, without any hospital ever seeing another’s records. Or banks detecting cross-border fraud patterns, without compromising client confidentiality.

Today, EDPS organised an IPEN event hosted by Goethe University Frankfurt.

This edition's topic was "Secure Multi-Party Computation (SMPC)" was tackled by our panellists Ivan Damgård, Thomas Schneider, Riivo Talviste, Hossein Yalame, Thomas Loruenser, Idoia Gamiz Ugarte, Christian Rendel, Vincent Dunning, Liina Kamm, Giuseppe D’Acquisto.

Speakers have explored the intersection of legal, technical and ethical imperatives SMPC offers in a compelling framework for trust-by-design collaboration.

@Supervisor Wojciech Wiewiorowski closed the event reminding participants that the purpose of privacy-enhancing technologies goes beyond protecting data: it is about protecting people, enabling collaboration without coercion, innovation without exploitation and progress without surveillance.

【塑膠廢棄物中的毒性化學物質污染肯亞的食物供應鏈和產品】

※ 放牧的雞蛋中測出一些持久性有機污染物（POPs），濃度是歐盟針對戴奧辛和戴奧辛類多氯聯苯（dioxin-like PCBs）安全上限值的111倍。
※ 根據歐盟的標準，成年人一天最多能攝取這些化學物質的量有個安全上限，但吃一顆前述被污染的蛋等於一次吃了250天份量的毒性化學物質。
※ 另一項測試是由再生塑膠製程的產品，包括兒童玩具。18項產品中有14項測出溴化阻燃劑（BFR）

這29項微波爆米花由美國四家公司生產：Jolly Time、Ramsey Popcorn、Conagra、Preferred Popcorn，其中Jolly Time的微波爆米花在台灣便利商店也買得到。

IPEN 和 Toxic-Free Future 去信詢問這四間公司停用 PFAS 的意願，只有 Conagra 回應：「2023年3月之後我們的ACT II品牌的微波爆米花不會再含PFAS」
