A friend has a CPAP machine for his sleep apnea. The company providing the CPAP bills his insurance carrier $840/mo. The carrier pays a negotiated discount price of $40. So the CPAP provider eats the $800/mo difference. (Sure they do. 🙄) That's a helluva profit margin if you can eat 95% of the value on your invoices and still be profitable. Or maybe somebody's inflating the actual cost of the product. 🤔
