#1984 was supposed to be a Sci-fi novel and not a guide book.... I absolutely hate where #canada is going with our #tyrant government.
Bill C-22 will take away our privacy rights in the name of "safety".
"Democratic" governments have a history of lies and deceit in the laws that they pass. Especially in Canada. They make it look like they're in it for the people, but really an agenda for more power and control is always behind their words and laws.
This law isn't about safety. Its about creating a back door so they can monitor everything we say and do in this digital age. Most of us spend our social lives online now, unfortunately...
So what a better way to do it? As if our mini surveillance devices weren't breaching privacy enough as it is.
Data brokers are also probably rubbing their greedy hands in anticipation that this Bill will pass...
I am really hoping that Canadians will put up a fight against this bill. We cannot live in constant surveillance just because the government wants to silence opposition and free thought.
