¿Sabían que la tradición Yoruba, originaria de lo que hoy es Nigeria y Benín, posee una de las cosmogonías más complejas del mundo, centrada en el concepto del Àṣẹ (Ashé)?

El Àṣẹ es definido como la fuerza vital y el poder cósmico que permite que las cosas sucedan; es la energía que reside en las palabras, las plantas, las piedras y los seres vivos. Dentro de este sistema, existe una jerarquía clara: en la cúspide se encuentra Olodumare, la deidad suprema y fuente de toda existencia, quien delega el mantenimiento del mundo en los Orishas, entidades que representan fuerzas de la naturaleza y arquetipos humanos.

Un dato fundamental de esta tradición es el Sistema de Adivinación Ifá, el cual fue declarado Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 2005. Este sistema se basa en un corpus literario extremadamente vasto llamado los Odu, que contienen la sabiduría histórica y ética de la cultura. A través de herramientas como el tablero de Ifá y los 16 caracoles, el Babalawo (padre de los secretos) no predice el futuro de forma lineal, sino que ayuda al individuo a realinear su destino personal con el orden natural del universo.

Junge Frauen und ihre Körper – selbstverständlich normschön, jugendlich, sexy – sind das Rohmaterial, aus dem die Musikindustrie und die Logik des Pop gemacht sind. Sie werden in Songtexten angeschmachtet und fetischisiert, beschimpft und degradiert, sie dienen auf der Bühne und im Backstage als Projektionsfläche. Weibliche Fans werden als kreischende Masse oder willenlose Groupies betrachtet, nicht fähig zu einem ernsthaften Interesse an der Musik oder einem ernstzunehmenden Geschmack. Und wenn eine Frau als Künstlerin auftritt, dann ist sie zunächst eine Frau und erst dann eine Musikerin, dann ist ihr Körper entweder zu dick, zu dünn, zu perfekt oder sonst wie falsch, dann ist sie entweder Hure oder Heilige, und dann – plötzlich – ist sie sowieso zu alt. In einer so wütenden wie lehrreichen Mischung aus Analyse und Abrechnung zeigt Sonja Eismann, wie tief Sexismus und Ageismus in die Musikindustrie eingeschrieben sind, wie wir als Konsument:innen den male gaze erlernt und verinnerlicht haben, wie Missbrauch und Pädosexualität in fast allen Szenen und Genres akzeptiert werden. Sie schreibt über alte Männer, die minderjährige Sängerinnen sexualisierte Songs performen lassen, über die scheinbare Unmöglichkeit eines richtigen Alterns, sexistischen Musikjournalismus, Superstars wie Taylor Swift, Beyoncé oder Peaches, über Feminizide in Songlyrics – und natürlich über Beispiele der selbstbewussten Aneignung, des Widerstands, der wütenden Mittelfinger gegen das Musikpatriarchat.

Anfang der 90iger Jahre.

Von Schneider gab es einen Musikturm um 300 DM der noch billiger als die von Quelle waren.

Mein Cheffe hatte auf der #IFA einen ganzen LKW voll davon gekauft.

Das waren Ladenhüter wie aus dem Bilderbuch.

Also was machen.

Mit einem #CD4017 haben wir dann ein #KnightRider #Kitt Licht gebaut.

Dieser wurde mittels Bohrschablone 2x sauber eingeklebt.

Nunja, es wurden noch etliche nachbestellt obwohl die 50 DM teurer wurden.

So tickts halt.

This week will have me crossing a state off my states-visited list for the first time since 2009–Wisconsin, where Oshkosh Corp. is hosting a press day to show off its government and industrial vehicles, including the U.S. Postal Service’s new and behind-schedule duckface trucks. I don’t have a good explanation for why I had not set foot in that state sooner and can only apologize to America’s Dairyland for the extended oversight.

10/6/2025: Amtrak’s new Acela trains can’t keep up with high-speed rail, Fast Company

After taking the new trains to and from New York at the end of August, I had ambitions of writing this story much faster than I did–sort of like how Amtrak had ambitions of getting the new train into service much sooner than it did. But getting the level of detail that I wanted about the railroad’s plans to upgrade the power infrastructure along the Northeast Corridor took more time than I expected.

I had about an hour Friday to quiz Evernote product lead Federico Simionato about Bending Spoons’ plans for the note-taking app that it bought in 2023, and which I’ve used since 2010–so of course I took notes in my Mac’s copy of Evernote while using the Android app to record our conversation for subsequent AI transcription.
