Tactility, Utility, Intentionality; a picture from 5 years ago of everything I used instead of a smartphone (although I forgot to include the Kindle 4).

The dumbphone, a Sony Ericsson Elm I used from 2010 to 2022 and only switched to a smartphone when I was forced to by a number of online services finally breaking on dumbphones post-pandemic; a move I continue to regret.

#Lazyweb, who has experience with #iPod batteries and can share a good source/brand for a replacement battery for an iPod nano 3rd generation? Yes, I checked, #iFixIt doesn't sell that one in Europe for some reason. They do have one for my older iPod classic 6th gen though :)

Since modding my iPod, I been listening to bunch of albums I hadn't properly listen to for awhile. Going to give Dog Park Dissident a try as I liked 'Queer As In Fuck You' and want to listen to more queer music.

Edit: Just added hashtags as I forget that Fedi prefers hashtags for discovery. Should know this as been here for few years lol

Okay! I opted for the Daily instead of Stable Build and finally got it on my device after several attempts. I found potential workaround for what to do if my windows rejects the device again. My latest MusicBee sync also came through as playable! Will take some time to think about putting podcasts on here, if at all, and learning more about the Rockbox config options : D

Yesterday, I installed an iFlash Solo SSD and new battery into my iPod Classic 6th Gen. The suggestion is to format to FAT32 in advance, but turns out that the iPod restore will do that automatically. I've been stuck in a cycle of my device either rejecting the format or saying my device needs to be repaired. I did at one point get Rockbox with @dook 's Themify theme going. I haven't gone as far as getting music that I synced from MusicBee to play yet, it just skips the tracks endlessly. I was surprised that MusicBee uses the iTunes API, so if I want to remove iTunes, I'll have to consider switching to foobar.

tbh im at the point now where idk if I wanna bluetooth mod my #iPod anymore.

I love my bluetooth earbuds. But you know what I don't love? Knowing that in 3 years, their batteries will die, and I'll have to buy an entirely new set. Fuck this. I'm so tired of doing it.

The latest find was from my trip to Anchor Electronics to get the GPS receivers (a separate post once I test them out), and I found this battery pack labeled for iPhone 3G & 3GS which has the 30 pin that works on iPods! Once I found the right powered charger and charged up the battery it works great with my classic iPods.
