@SheHacksPurple @jwgoerlich The question is, what are Security Basics?
I have seen different things from different people on what they should be, but no real definition that can be generally applied.
I mean we might now in our heads what is basic, but without a written definition, we cannot bring anything to upper management that would stick as far as what needs to be done, both tool and personnel wise.

It is precisely our job (as security people in a company) to define what security basics are (in that company). Waiting for someone else to do it is neglecting our responsibility.

I can see that point. Also, for me, I defined thr basics as things that haven’t changed in decades.

- Relationships
- Lead, manage, develop your team
- Develop Security champions
- Master your tools (technical acumen)
- Deploy security programs not products
