Vor einer halben Ewigkeit (~ 2012) las ich das Buch "Der Prügelknabe" von Charlie #Huston. Es war absolut grandios. Schon damals hieß es, die Filmrechte seien bereits verkauft. Ich konnte es gar nicht abwarten, wie diese Highspeed-Geschichte wohl umgesetzt werden würde. Nur kam da nichts.

Bis jetzt, denn am 28. August kommt sie ins #Kino – ich bin gespannt 😊

Le film d’Almodovar « La Chambre d’à côté » cite la fin de la nouvelle de James Joyce The Dead, et l’adaptation qu’en a fait John Huston au cinéma.

L’histoire : un réveillon dans une famille bourgeoise de Dublin. Le couple des personnages principaux rejoint ensuite sa chambre d’hôtel. Là, elle fait à son mari le récit d’un amour de jeunesse, qui s’acheva dramatiquement par la mort du jeune homme, mort d’amour pour elle. Et puis, il y a le monologue intérieur du mari, d’une infinie mélancolie. C’est la fin tant de la nouvelle que du film.
