UK Society of #Authors launches logo to identify #books written by #humans not #AI
The Society of Authors (SoA) has launched a scheme to help identify works written by humans in a market increasingly flooded by #AI-generated books.
The scheme is the first of its kind launched by a UK trade association, and allows authors to register their books and download a “Human Authored” logo to display on their back cover.

Humans to certify their books as human-authored?
Only open to US Guild members for now? I bet non-members will be able use it for a fee.
This is just extra grift from a organisation powerless to actually protect its members but happy enough to exploit them.
The idea that humans will have to go to the extra time and expense to mark their books as actually authored — without safeguards that AI slop producers won’t just fake the stupid logo on their own drek — is just another dystopian brick in the timeline.
