Return of Nisga’a memorial totem pole to be celebrated with ceremony and feast

The pole was carved in 1860 in memory of a Nisga'a chief, and was taken from the nation in 1929, without the nation's consent and later sold to the National Museum of Scotland.

Repatriated house post heading back to B.C. Indigenous First Nation from Harvard museum

The Museum of Northern British Columbia will care for the house post until the completion of the Gitxaała Cultural Center and Museum in 2024 in the village of Lax Klan.
