In a "feels like a Portlandia episode" moment the city decided to handle the mosaic exactly how it does all other graffiti.

City workers and cops did what they were told to do. They painted right on over the rat mural and the city council debated giving the cops even more resources and punishments to doll out to make sure this sort of thing(clever art) never happens again in Seattle.
