I don’t know much about it, but from what I’ve been reading and learning about early American automobile history is that #CarCulture emerged from use like the name of the early devices might suggest: the #HorselessCarriage
My theory—and I’d love folks with more knowledge to add in—is that the draw for a lot of folks to early cars was greater range of travel without having to have land and other resources to care for animals like horses.
