Gil Kerley's shop, Quirky Books in Albuquerque, N.M., became a haven for unhoused people. His neighbors were not happy. Alexander Sammon writes for @Slate about the complicated rise and fall of the Quirky camp. "I pressed Gil one more time on what possibly could’ve motivated him to do this, to risk his store and his neighbors’ stores too for people he barely knew. 'I just believe you have to help people at the bottom,' he said. I believe he believed that," Sammon concludes.

What the homelessness crisis says.

People are tired of this mode how the society operates.

We have begin paying attention to humans just because they are human.

Not just individual.

Also as a society with its institutions.

That means universal health care is a human right.

That means questioning those parts of your identity that tell you to go ahead with whatever you think is important when it is leaving others behind.

And it also means to see the homeless.

Don't hide them

don't criminalize.
