I'd love to own one of these bad boys just to look at it all day.

🔹 Have you heard of the Sony Hit-Bit HB-F5?
Released in 1985, this sleek 8-bit machine from Sony ran on the MSX standard and packed 64KB of RAM. Plug it into a TV, load up a cartridge or cassette, and dive into a world of early home computing. A true retro gem from the era when computers looked like they came from the future. 💾✨

@trodrigues The Sony #HitBit #HB101 (https://www.msx.org/wiki/Sony_HB-101) is definitely one of the sexiest #MSX machines out there. If only it had more RAM and was an MSX2 instead. 😅
Sony HB-101 - MSX Wiki

This machine was aimed at the Japanese market - see HB-101 series for the technical details

It's quite easy for any 8bit computer from the eighties to find some sd card extension. Here with my Sony #Hitbit F700 from 1986 it's all the more interesting because the #MSDOS see the card like a dos harddrive, and is close to the MS-DOS pc version of that time. Also, you can go to http://www.pouet.net, go to the prod section, filter list with your favorite machine, and you will be able to download recent productions like this one released a few days ago. #MSX #MSX2 #demoscene #SonyHitBit . This will always be a better way to spent your evening than netflix. #retrocomputer #retrogeek

TIL that the #Philips #VG8020 #composite #video output is *not* the same as the one on the #Sony #HitBit series. One would have thoght that the #MSX standard would have taken these into account as well?!

Here is the description of RGB output for all MSX systems that use a DIN connector.

Yay, the MSX Pico cartridge just arrived and I immediately had to give it a try on my #HB75D - works like a charm!

Now I can finally enjoy some MSX hands on experience ... (and play #AntarcticAdventure !)

Newest addition to the collection is this #Sony #HitBit #MSX machine.
It's in a rough shape and I don't know if it works and how much will buff out.
What's your take on 3rd party stickers from the time period? Get rid if them or leave them?
