I've just learned it's #HistoryWritersDay22 - I'm a historian of performance, power, and gender with a focus on the early modern period in Europe. I've published on the power of consorts in Shakespeare, representations of Marie Antoinette in the 20th century, Mary I in contemporary chronicles, Katherine of Aragon, and the Werburgh Street Theatre. I'm working on a book on continental consorts in England and how they built and utilized power bases on the isle and abroad. #histodons @histodons
