As a test to see if the visualisation capabilities of HighCharts or Plotly differ that much for my use-case (date/time and one or multiple lines through it), I rewrote two of my tools this weekend to use Plotly instead of HighCharts.

Again, just like with HighChart, it was a google-party to see how the various options and switches and features work, but at the end it all showed the data in a way I could work with.

The only difference was that it loaded the javascript faster, as I hadn't copied these ones to our internal servers yet. The moment I did do that, there was no real speed or plotting or feature difference for my use-case.

The (officially) supported version of HighCharts for EmberJS just got bumped from `v5` to `>=v10`.

I’ve been building a “dx core metrics” report for work over the last little bit. GitHub actions scheduled deploy, pulling data from GH, some manual csv exports from other systems (Jira, for example, MS forms..) and merging together into an #11ty site. Some data rendered out through njk, others just blobbed into JS for #highcharts. It’s been satisfying to generate purposeful visualizations, with minimal client load (most pages only a few hundred kb, much of which is high charts. (1/2)

What's your favorite package for interactive visualizations with R? I compare #ggiraph, #plotly, and #highcharts and can't align the plotting capabilities for seemingly simple tasks 😳

My personal favorite for interactive figures in reports and dashboards is still #ggplot2 with #plotly's ggplotly() which I have used extensively over the years.

Everytime I try and be a good lad and implement #CSP in #rubyonrails, some JS library stops it working and doesn’t load something. In this case, #highcharts - so flipping annoying
