The herring run in Brewster, MA. We thought the fish would be running, but apparently we were a week or so too early. #CapeCod #BrewsterMA #herring #herringrun #nature #fish #Massachusetts

California sea lions very relaxed, some sleeping even, in the sea where herring has just spawned.

California sea lions have a darker coat than Steller sea lions and they also have a bump on their forehead.

If you are in the Qualicum Beach area, a large spawn has started there yesterday. You'll see plenty of fishing boats at sea too.

Back home from scouting. Lots of Steller sea lions and gulls catching herring. Lots of bald eagles. Saw 3 humpback whales in the distance. Had a close encounter with a river otter.
I expect wildlife activity is going to increase in the next few days and into next week once the herring start to spawn.
