John DalMy dad was a Heating Engineer, someone told me he was the best pipe fitter in the North East (England). He left some photos of his handiwork at a hospital somewhere. Learning trades like this was what gave large swathes of the working population their pride, and sadly much of it has gone. No wonder people feel disaffected in the old working class communities.
