📈 #Heatpump sales grew by 11% in 13 EU countries in 2025, reaching 2.34 million units sold.
Stable policies and lower electricity costs drive growth, but gaps between countries show untapped potential.

Ok that’s a tad scary
The other day, right after the French gov announced they were going to forego anything US in our technical systems, I started writing a draft of a post here
But I got interrupted a bunch of times, switching back and forth between apps on my iPhone, and Mastodon (glitch-soc fork) gave up, eventually reloaded/reset my draft and that was that…
But today I got this starter screen on YouTube, also on my iPhone, and I find that incredible/scary
The intent of my cancelled post was that, as a heat pump owner, and not really an early adopter at that, I’m kinda annoyed that there was no financial incentive for me beyond the initial investment: my yearly contract and options are not (financially) better now, and in fact they are slightly worse
But here in this screenshot we have a clear ad to the contrary, hosted on YouTube (which I didn’t consult for this journey), and presumably by my secondary energy provider
… which happens to be my gas provider (not electricity), and the one energy that I’m trying to get rid of, so that’s manifold-ly weird
When I tell people what we paid for electricity over the last year (about £1500) they’re astounded how cheap our heat pump is to run. Then I point out that includes driving around 10,000 miles and all our cooking.
I was able to say this to a guy who popped round for some free concrete blocks and asked about the heat pump. Fair to say he was aghast…. Given what he’d just been quoted for a tank of heating oil. #heatpump #oilprice #domesticenergy #solar
