Man accused of killing Harris County corporal in 2024 deemed ‘temporarily incompetent’ to stand trial

The capital murder case against Athir Murady, 41, has not been dismissed as a result of a court's finding about his mental capacity. He is accused in the 2024 shooting death of Cpl. Maher Husseini of the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.

Precinct 4 sidewalks project brings miles of new sidewalks to Harris County

Wednesday morning Briones announced the successful completion of 50 miles of sidewalks around schools in the Alief, Cypress-Fairbanks and Katy Independent School Districts. During a ceremonial ribbon cutting out front of Alief ISD at Hastings’ High School, Briones said she’s proud of what they’ve accomplished with the “Pathways to Progress” project.
