Dozens of #SandhillCrane flying into a marsh filled with more Sandhill cranes. From #SauvieIsland, just north of Portland where the #WillametteRiver flows into the #ColumbiaRiver. We were fortunate to be there between rain showers. We also had excellent views of #BaldEagle, #HarrierHawk, #Kestrel, #SnowGoose, #Shoveler, #Widgeon, #CanvasBack, #Coot, #Swan, #Egret, and #GreatBlueHeron.

Sound up for the Sandhill cranes!

We went to see the winter birds in #SauvieIsland, most especially the #SandhillCranes. They are the largest species of crane in North America and their distinctive call is haunting. We also saw #BaldEagle, #HarrierHawk, #Kestrel, #SnowGoose, #CanadaGoose, #Coot, #ScrubJay, #RedwingBlackbird, #WesternMeadowlark, and a few others. What a gorgeous day!
