Sandhill Cranes flying overhead. After watching the sunrise over the Platte River, where they rest & avoid predators overnight, the birds take flight after sunrise. This flock flew overhead after our group had left the blind. Just after the video ends, we saw the reason for the commotion: A Bald Eagle had entered the scene, looking for breakfast. None of these Cranes volunteered.

So, we're not crazy.

Mrs Miasma and I would lie in bed giggling on mornings when we heard sandhill cranes calling.

We knew no matter how fast we got up and dressed, we wouldn't see them. We never had and we'd tried many times... until today.

A pair of juvenile sandhill cranes picking at the grass in our backyard.

Apologies - they were at the absolute limit of my iphone's focus range. (How do they know?)

Still - cranes in Wyoming.

Based on the apparent size, shape, and outstretched necks they might be #SandhillCranes.

My best guess.
