Multiple reports indicate that U.S. fighter jets conducted bombings on the southern side of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, likely targeting IRGC or Iranian troops searching for the missing pilot.

Tasnim News Agency confirmed that the strikes took place and stated that the United States is “attempting to kill its own pilot.”

Part of the reason for disinformation about Palestinians doing unspeakable things to "hostages" (POWs) is that the IDF want soldiers to be VERY motivated to not get captured

If it's unofficial and they do it to themselves, no hostage exchange and no accountability.

I found an article saying that in Hebrew ages ago, and I couldn't believe what I was reading. Something about "blow up yourself and Hamas" seemed too ironic to be real.

It was / is reportedly very common in North East Asia (China, Korea, and Japan) but the Christian and Muslim prohibitions on suicide make it much less common to say it so directly in the West and Middle East.
