The first five #offshorewind turbines at #VineyardWind1 in Massachusetts have powered up. The 13MW #windturbines are now delivering around 65MW of clean energy to the #NewEngland #electricalgrid, enough to power 30,000 homes and businesses in #Massachusetts. Nine turbines are installed, and 10th is underway. The 11th turbine is about to be transported to the offshore site. Each #GE #HaliadeX turbine has a 220m (722ft) rotor, 107m (351ft) blades, and is 248m (814ft) tall.

#DoggerBank, the world’s largest #offshorewind farm under construction, is sending power to the #UK’s grid for the very first time.
The 3.6GW Dogger Bank #WindFarm is being built in UK waters 81mi (130 km) off the #Yorkshire coast and in three 1.2 GW phases – Dogger Bank A, B, and C.
The first two #GE #RenewableEnergy 13 MW #HaliadeX turbines were installed in early September, and this is the first time Haliade-X units have been energized offshore anywhere in the world.

The announcement says the “fully assembled machine represents the largest turbine in the western world.” It has a 220-meter (722-foot) rotor, has 107-meter (351-foot) blades, and is 248 meters (814 feet) tall, can't wait for the full #WindFarm to be ready!
