Got a phone upgrade from a 5 year old iPhone to a shiny new #honormagic8pro which I admit I only chose because it comes with free tablet, docking station and smart watch.

Was not prepared for the amount of AI and Google bloat which was my niavity 😂

Taken a few days but I've managed to disable or uninstall all of the above and now I love it 🥳 The only thing I can't get rid of is the AI editing options on camera but I'll never use them and the camera is pretty decent without them anyway!

I have used a combination of #aurora store (mirror of Google play store without the Google nonsense), #f_droid (open source apps with privacy in mind) and #microg (to replace Google play services that some apps need to operate) and it's been a really interesting learning curve. Got my go-to apps no problem using the above and although I couldn't get my banking apps (no way around the error messages from having Google play disabled) it's not a problem for me to have the browser log ins pinned on home screen instead. I've also got #noai.duckduckgo as my default browser.

Got an alternative text messaging system to Google messages from fdroid which is working perfectly.

I won #google fuck you 😂

Edited because I forgot to mention I also have the full #proton suite to replace calender, emails and password manager as well as VPN always on 👍
