Grow Heathrow is an off-grid community and protest site that has, for 8 years, occupied a few acres of vacant land in the village of Sipson, just north of London’s Heathrow Airport. Nel marzo 2010 alcun* attivisti occupano un terreno, in precedenza centro di giardinaggio convertito poi in discarica, e lo tramutano in un eco-#squat che oggi vanta oltre 15 case costruite con materiali di recupero.
La comunità di #GrowHeathrow, esempio pratico di #autosufficienza e #autodeterminazione, si pone come opposizione radicale all’espansione dell’omonimo #aereoporto di #Londra che prevede la realizzazione di una terza pista sulla terra attualmente difesa.
