Why did i choose this song:

The song itself is very awsome and the DAF Version/original is pretty good. The text is also pretty nice and provacative. OHL covered the song back in the 80s with their song "Türkenlied" and the original was actually by "Mittagspause" and was called "Wir sind die Türken von morgen" which later became DAF and "Kebabträume". The lyrics changed between each version a little bit and is pretty famous.
OHL itself is a little bit provocativ because they were a punk band which critized left and right and was called "CDU punk" (conservative party punk) by critics. Death in Rome is a parody band which does also a lot of covers to tribute to important Neofolk bands and influences. DAF singer Gaby died recently so they covered Kebabträume. The lyrics itself are a strange mix between being very relevant today and being outdated (Mauerstadt, i didnt even live when the DDR existed ;)

The music video is looking very strange and nationalistic. Turkish people being proud to hold a big flag is not a common theme for music videos. well it is not a music video. it is an AKP commercial ;)

Neu-Izmir ist in der DDR | Ich denke ich bin in der DDR (New-Izmir is in the GDR | I think I'm in the GDR) is a small easteregg. the DAF version had the first line but they used the latter which was in the OHL version.
The singer here is "Deutscher W" (The singer of OHL)

Why did I choose this song:
FGFC820 is a very political band. The topics are about war, raciscm, fascism, militarism, democracy, sociology, dictators, mass murders , politcal religion and often very direct. Another song with incredible lyrics is Democracy. They often use speeches by modern western politicians like Trudeau senior and Obama. Sometimes there speeches are tempered with and much harsher/harder. I choose this song because it was on of the first I ever heard from this band. FGFC820 stands for "For God for Country Alpha to Omega". The sound and its lyrics are even though it is covered very typical.

Interpretation/Reason why i like it: I like the mix between Aggrotech where i can dance to and serious topics. While I personally experienced racism the main problem is identifying it. Was the person racist or did they just dislike me personally? This song has a different approach. It defines racism, transphobie, sexism and homophobie as a systematic problem. But this doesnt make it easier for the individual not targeted person. Not fighting this system means letting people down, your friends.
If the answer isn't violence, neither is your silence. This is the kind of lyrics i like to party to.

The cover sounds very similar to the original but in terms of melody and structure. The beat itself is not very hard and not "in your face" but when played loud enough still very danceable.
