Just throwing this out there for anyone to comment on. A lot of us are in the gig economy, either by choice or need. We are craftspeople, gardeners, cleaners, IT professionals, etc. We may find ourselves dependent on the large app and lead service companies for jobs. We have to function in this competitive environment of grow big, eat the competition or die.
Is there an alternative economy we can build? One based on cooperation more than competitiveness? Aside from giving everyone a basic income, so they can do what they love without being forced to be either an employer or an employee. How about an economy modeled off ecological species guilds? Are there examples of that? I like the idea of working in a confederation of self sufficient craftspeople, rather than in the the old employer/employee system. Natural ecosystems themselves are not hierarchical. They have thrived for ages. If we want to survive, maybe there is a lesson there.
