Anti-capitalism is necessary, but it is not automatically liberatory by itself. People can hate capitalism and still love hierarchy. They can oppose empire and still excuse another empire. They can talk about the people while silencing actual people. They can use radical language to smuggle domination back into the room. That is why I care so much about the texture of community. This is capitalist propaganda, the true split within anti-capitalism is between vanguardism and libertarian communism/communalism, or who the revolutionary subject is and what is the role of a political organization.

For dialectical materialists the separation can not last for ever, there will be synthesis eventually, and judging of the 32 year old experiment of the #Zapatistas / #EZLN the synthesis WORKS! #Vanguard organizations refuse to acknowledge their significance, why would they?

The vanguard serves, does not rule over the "subject".

Since the 90s, if not 80s in the US, there has been a global offensive by federalized global (western) capital against EVERYTHING #public to be confiscated, liquidated, and privatized.

Why would "PUBLIC" #libraries escape this offensive. In most constitutions except for dictatorships and monarchies, to convert anything public to private you have to violate the access rights by ALL HUMANS, not even just citizens/residents

Pseudo environmental #GreenEnergy campaigns have been just a cover-up for this constitutional violation, converting public land/water-bodies into private "lots".

"Governments" are not the enemies of libraries, governments hostage to economic elites and processes are enemies of people (working people, the working poor). Unless we are to devolve to the ultimate fascism of the survival of the fittest (and best armed) .. we ... people .. collectively will need to govern our communities and protect our own rights.

Something that capitalism is violently opposing and destroying the possibility of.

"A civilization without rulers?

Researchers have studied this culture extensively, yet many mysteries remain about their settlements. There are no palaces, no obvious signs of rich elite burials and precious metals are extremely rare. Even though thousands of people lived together in these early cities, most houses look the same.

To better understand their social organization, researchers from Romania and Germany conducted two major excavations in 2023 and 2024, as they detail in their paper published in PLOS One.

Unearthed mega-structure hints at communal rule in Romania 6,000 years ago

Archaeologists working at the ancient settlement of Stăuceni-"Holm" in northeastern Romania have uncovered a mega-structure measuring 350 square meters dating back about 6,000 years. This is one of the few examples of a massive building that has been physically excavated in the region. It is hoped that it will reveal more about the Cucuteni-Trypillia culture (ca. 5000–3500 BC) of Eastern Europe, which is known for its large, well-planned settlements.
