Get Out of Jail Free Card

The Republican dissent on the #GaetzReport is so narrow, it's damning.

"We do not challenge the Committee’s findings...", i.e. they don't challenge the statutory rape, child sex trafficking, sex with a minor, prostitution, obstruction of justice, illegal narcotics use, attempted witness tampering, false statements, etc.

Their issue is that it's typical to silence reports when someone is no longer serving in the House.

Crimes committed & public right to know be damned.

Just because someone tried to shoot #Trump, it doesn't change FACTS.

Trump is still a convicted felon.

Trump still refers to Hannibal #Lecter, exploding trees and electrocuting sharks as real things.

Trump still has dozens of women who claim he violently assaulted them.

Trump still has to answer to charges he conspired with others to destroy evidence, interfere with elections and may have commited acts of treason.

No matter the motivations,
getting shot at is not a #GetOutOfJailFree card.

Because they are next on the list and they know that their #GetOutOfJailFree card is not going to be elected.

@RazzleDK @Popehat queue trump asking where to mail the check so that they can issue him his #GetOutOfJailFree card. For the valet? Not so much.

#CourtesyCards for friends/family of #LawEnforcement (aka #GetOutOfJailFree cards) are an #AbuseOfPower by those sworn to protect. That they’re unofficially sanctioned by departments across the US makes them universally corrosive to the trust #police & other officers say they deserve from the communities they serve. #Corruption

NYPD officer cites 'courtesy cards' as a source of widespread corruption

A New York City police officer is speaking out against the use of "courtesy cards" by friends and relatives of cops, accusing department leaders of maintaining a sprawling system of impunity that has fueled both reckless driving and racist traffic stops.
