Forgot I was supposed to play the current Enstars event…
This current administration is so bat shit crazy, I thought it was a joke that the new head of FEMA not knowing there is a hurricane season. Nope it’s real. I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.
State of how the world has been I'm wondering if instead of insuring against such things there is maybe a way to make a booking.
📗 "The Jakarta Method: Washington's Anticommunist Crusade and the Mass Murder Program that Shaped Our World" by Vincent Bevins
It's one of those days (weeks? years? decades? sigh). Begging the West, especially the US, to not mess up every other country with coups, wars, genocide and other 'interventions' or 'support' in their endless need for influence, power and resources. To not handle everything and everyone as nothing more than a possible asset to manipulate, suck dry and discard. To, even for just one day, stop the imperial machine that keeps chugging onwards, gobbling up everything in its path as if living beings and the planet are not magnificent things to be protected.
Observing all of the recent conflicts and slaughters has been a lot. It keeps increasing. The quick fall of Syria's regime has been a shock too. It's hard to celebrate anything when Western powers are involved for their own gains. What is the plan? Meanwhile, here in the EU, leaders just can't stop warning us that we have to prepare for disasters and that we have to learn to want to fight & die for ideology (kids nowadays, don't even want to die for our capital, can you believe it?!).
Just like the present, the future feels threatening. Even though it's about the past, this book will add on to that. It is a painful read. The amount of civilians killed, regimes toppled and movements for freedom suffocated by the US is terrifying. The book is thorough, but reading it you can't help but realize that it's probably still only the tip of the iceberg of how much of the world is heavily influenced, shaped or even controlled, involuntarily, by the US and its allies. And made worse for it.
If you're somehow still mostly unaware, I'd highly recommend reading this book or one like it. And if you happen to be one of those annoying American libs that have been attacking me this year for refusing to celebrate the warmongering actions of Democratic US presidents, please read this and come to your senses.
