Here we look at the drivers of diversification of Liolaemus lizards 🦎 throughout the Andes πŸ”οΈ using a mechanistic model βš™οΈ of spatial diversification #Gen3sis

We found that paleoclimate change β˜€οΈ ❄️ produced a 'sweet spot' at mid-elevations which maximises speciation relative to extinction to produce a hotspot of biodiversity.

Hola GalΓ­cia πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ, I'm more than happy to have arrived in Vigo.. excited to meet the Mapas lab crew and have some fun time here, by modelling biodiversity using #gen3sis and deep time environmental data. Looking forward to listen from the paleo experts   . It prob. won't be as smooth as with @AlexDSkeels @brosenbaum during the #ms3bm but I will try my best to use what I learned  #ms3bmish #vigo

I decided to run a course #ms3bm #iDiv on my first week after parental leave. Diving into #gen3sis, a spatially explicit, #mechanistic #ecoevo #biodiversity #model, was def. not easy, specially with lack of sleep. But the reward of sharing knowledge πŸ”„, is exactly what makes any hard work look doable for me. Thanks @AlexDSkeels @brosenbaum for making this possible! I'm really enjoying to work with this super varried crew! I'm learning every day something new ❀️
