So I’ve completed the audiobooks for KD Edwards’ Tarot Sequence books. I’d like to find more Urban Fantasy/Epic Fantasy novels and series that feature gay male lead protagonists.
Flewelling is literally decades old, and I feel like it was written for a different era for a different audience. And some like to point to Hobbs, but she’s far far too traumatizing for me.
I’m not seeking Romance/Erotica or YA, and as much as I love that there is so much successful Sapphic fantasy lit out there nowadays that’s really really good, I’m honestly trying to find books that center gay males.
Any recs?

Mikhail Kuzmin
Russian poet, novelist. His novel Wings was the first Russian novel centred on homosexuality. Kuzmin met poet Yuri Yurkun in 1913. The 2 lived together with Yurkun's mother, + wife, Olga. Their relationship lasted until Kuzmin's death in 1936. Yurkun was arrested (along with many other writers) 2 years later by Soviet authorities and shot.

Okay, this one’s not trans-related, but I adored it, so had to share it as an addendum to this list:
Different for Boys, written by Patrick Ness and illustrated by Tea Bendix
What can I say? Fantastic story, engaging writing style and beautiful illustrations. Five stars.
