Birthday cake step 2 is done (step 1 was cleaning the kitchen) so now it's time to eat candy and complete the fire temple in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom before the rest of the family comes home.
I finished Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom last night and have FEELINGS.
Kiddo quizzed me about boss mechanics (he's side questing before the last fight) then advised me that I should start Tears of the Kingdom since he's playing Bugsnax today.
That is... a way to cope? I think I'm going to take his advice.
Today in #parenting and working from home: my kid is mad that I wouldn't leave my work meeting to defeat a robot in a dance battle.

Picked up Pikuniku because it's on sale for just over $3 and my kid and I spent the past hour solving puzzles and accidentally-on-purpose kicking each other's avatars in the face and giggling, so I'm on track to get my money's worth. 😁
Kiddo convinced me to pick up Palworld so we could play together, but it turns out it only works on my computer right now so I only got to play for a few minutes before I had to let him use my machine. But it looks cute and if we can get it working on another machine I think we'll have some fun together! Kind of... Zelda meets Pokémon vibes?
Sometimes my kid is unintelligible due to pronunciation issues, but sometimes he very clearly says stuff like, "I need you to log into guild wars so I can go on the bank squid" that really only makes sense with context.
Anyhow, here's the "bank squid" and my turtle mount I can take a passenger in so he can go visit the top. 🐢🦑
It's a day off at school so my kid is doing a deep dive through my Steam collection to find games he hasn't played. Clearly I prepared the last decade of my life for this moment.
