I love Cole Young.
I immediately fell for this handsome, kind, approachable, and very likable man who guided me into the MK universe.

He was a rare mixed-heritage Asian hero.
Mortal Kombat has many Asian characters - stylish, iconic, traditional ninja types. I love them, but Cole was an Asian American man who didn't really know his roots or feel he belonged, which is exactly what made him special.
His presence broadened Asian representation.

He is not some “Bob who wandered into the Avengers.” He is one of the Eternals.

I love how he sneaks bites of his daughter's ice cream. I love how he doesn't hide his losses from his wife and daughter. I love his fighting style. I love his armor.

Cole Young was special, truly one of a kind. I'm proud of him.
The way the sequel treated him was just painful. I miss him. He deserved better.
