Functional Print Friday is one of my favourite YT channels. Perhaps the only improvement would be if he switched to #freecad 😉.

This particular video is a fantastic example of the utility of a 3D printer. A custom tool, perfectly adequate for the purpose, printed from 'humble' PLA. Side note: PLA used to be the cheapest filament but these days I'm finding e.g. Sunlu PETG cheaper / same price 🤷🏼‍♂️.

i'm finding i need to take frequent breaks -- for my own well-being -- from the process of packing up the house for an upcoming in-town move. that gives me plenty of opportunities to use a #3dPrinter for something at which it excels: rapidly physically iterating a bracket design to test the form/fit/function.

A flexible material of my car key buttons failed after some years of usage.

10 minutes worth of #3dprinting fixed this. I love that.

Didn’t even have to use CAD, since this seems a common issue and someone already published a model.👏🏻
