My work today on the #BiodiversityShrines was mainly the old technique of #perlage = #beading. On social media it's often called #FrenchBeading, but in France, we don't say that. Differences in beading technique are less national than temporal. Victorian techniques, f. e., differed from those of the Renaissance. Perlage was traditionally used for costumes, headdresses or so-called #klosterarbeiten like #reliquaries. Attached: 1 image 1/ O holy laziness! I decided not to go to the museum because rainy 14°C is not so much comfortable for sitting outside. I will enjoy the pleasant coolness in my studio before the heat returns. My excuse: So many #BiodiversityShrines for the exhibition in October are not ready yet. (Look on the hashtag for more). So I'm going to skewer #endangered species (don't worry, it's #PaperArt). #NatureArt #assemblages #artistsOfMastodon #EcoArt #activism #BiodiversityLoss #ClimateAction #FolkArt #kinship

I am a very impatient person. At some point, I discovered old votives with #French #perlage #flowers in our #museum magazine. And I wanted to copy them. I took countless photos, tried construction drawings, practised, and cursed. Then I was too impatient to imitate something and designed it freely. I think that I am still an impatient person ... #brooches #art #artjewellery #glassbeads #beads #beadembroidery #FrenchBeading #artsandcrafts #Flowers #AtelierTetebrec #paperart #naturejewelry #handmadejewelry #culturalheritage #beading
