On #ThisDayInHistory in 1203, the armies of the #FourthCrusade arrived at Constantinople (now İstanbul). Relations with the Romans had deteriorated by then, so Venetians chose to skip the Holy Land and attack their fellow Christians instead. They sacked the city on 12 April 1204.
