Octopuses, like any other edible species in our
#ocean, are facing immense pressure from overfishing. The numbers are alarming:
🇮🇹 In Italy, nearly 3,000 tons of octopuses are caught each year,
🇬🇷 In Greece, an average of 2,000 tons,
🇪🇸 In Spain, over 1,600 tons.
These figures represent the deaths of hundreds of thousands of octopuses annually – and they exclude both recreational and illegal catches: the actual impact is far greater.
