🌊 Here’s what Sea Shepherd’s active fleet has been up to in the first half of 2025 — as always, it's been a busy few months protecting marine life!

Across three oceans, our ships have been on constant patrol, taking direct action to defend marine ecosystems and support coastal communities:

🛥️ MV Age of Union
IUU Campaigns: Liberia, Benin, São Tomé & Príncipe
Currently patrolling the waters of São Tomé & Príncipe alongside local authorities in one of the world’s most exploited fisheries.

🛥️ MV Allankay
Campaigns: Antarctica, Bougainville
Now operating in Bougainville, Papua New Guinea, supporting law enforcement efforts to combat IUU fishing in the heart of the Coral Triangle.

🛥️ MV Sea Eagle
Campaign: Italy, Greece
Currently at sea in Greece, removing illegal octopus traps from protected waters to safeguard Mediterranean biodiversity.

⚓️ In just six months, Sea Shepherd has:
→ Removed destructive fishing gear
→ Deterred poachers
→ Highlighted the damage caused by krill factory trawlers
→ Protected some of the planet’s richest marine habitats

This is what real ocean defense looks like.

Aboard the #AgeofUnion, the crew is patrolling some of the world’s most exploited waters: tracking illegal fishing, protecting endangered species, and defending vulnerable ecosystems.

And now, between watches and missions, they're joining the last week of the #FitForTheOcean Challenge.🏃‍♀️

Their motto? "If we can do it on a moving ship… you can move #fortheocean wherever you are." 💬

Defending #marinelife? ✅
Defending ourselves? Also ✅

Sailing through high-risk piracy areas means gearing up—literally. That’s why the crew is out here wrapping the #AgeOfUnion in a fresh layer of razor wire. It’s a full-team effort, featuring safety gloves, steady hands, (and whatever extra layers we can find in the clothing locker—spot the out-of-season hat? 🎩)

Not the easiest task, but very important when you’re on a mission to protect the #ocean. 🌊✊

After months of hard work (and a whole lot of grease and sweat), the #AgeOfUnion has left Las Palmas—newly refitted and ready to take on the fight against #IUUfishing.

Prepping a ship like this isn’t just about fixing what’s broken—it’s about making sure it’s built to handle whatever the ocean throws at it and ready to chase down those who put marine life at risk. Behind every freshly welded plate and tightened bolt is the dedication of a crew who keeps it all running—early mornings, late nights, and everything in between.💪

Goodbyes are never easy, and this one was bittersweet as we parted ways with the incredible team who poured their energy into this vessel, along with our friends on the #OceanWarrior.

But now, it’s time to do what we do best—defend the #ocean. 💙
